Do you want to grow professionally? Would you like to develop your skills? Have you lost your sense of purpose and motivation? Do you feel like you're stagnating and don't really know what you want? Do you have a new professional project, but you're afraid you don't have all the necessary skills? Would you like to identify your strengths and the skills you need to develop? Whatever your age or years of professional experience, all your questions deserve an answer.

Skills assessment is a tailor-made tool that can be used to kick-start a new professional project, prepare for retirement or take stock. There are many good reasons to take stock! Find out more here

Because your desires and motivations evolve, economic conditions change and regular surveys are necessary, skills assessment seems to have become an essential step in any career. The system is open to all, employees, fixed-term contract workers and the unemployed.

Skills assessment is carried out face-to-face, or even remotely these days, with a professional trainer/coach. An assessment takes around 24 hours and lasts around 3 months. It's a five-step process that enables you to gain a better understanding of your skills (acquired or to be developed) and your deepest aspirations, with a view to creating a motivating and realistic professional and personal project:

  1. ‍Preliminary phase: identify your needs, objectives and expectations.
  2. Assessment phase: take stock of your career, skills and aspirations.‍
  3. Exploration phase: identify your values and sources of meaning in professional and personal life.
  4. Concrete phase: imagine possible paths to fulfillment.
  5. Conclusion phase: implement the professional and personal project that suits you.

But skills assessment has its limits. It's not a miracle cure. And even if the test goes well, it rarely becomes a revelation. It's unlikely that you'll suddenly discover hidden skills completely opposed to the job you've been doing for 20 years! Nor is it psychotherapy. Professionals agree that starting the assessment means that the person is doing well and can actively participate in the development of their project: meetings with target professionals, telephone calls, contacts with training centers...

What makes a successful assessment? The success of the assessment depends above all on the person's level of motivation. Taking the step of carrying out a skills assessment is already an excellent start. As the sessions progress, your project will "mature" and you'll feel ready to take action to follow a training course, look for a new position, set up your own business, retrain or even change environment. Or, quite simply, it can give you the impetus to change the way you look at your job, and adapt it to make it more motivating.
