Mental Overload Training

Mental overload: a challenge for us all!

About the course

Mental load or cognitive load is "the cost of processing information, for an individual, in a given task and context." Cognitive load is natural: it exists as soon as we engage our cognitive abilities, and is not inherently bad. It's regular "cognitive overload" that can be harmful.

Mental overload occurs when :

  • a person has to process more information than their working memory can cope with,
  • multitasking,
  • the task is too complex,
  • the physical or digital work environment is too stimulating,
  • fatigue, stress or lack of motivation force him to increase the effort required to complete a task.

Cognitive overload leads to negative consequences for the employee, such as increased risk of error, difficulty in memorizing information, planning actions and managing emotions.

Our coaching is based on a pragmatic approach. Training involves four stages: awareness, understanding of 'automatic' behavioral programs, acquisition of tools and techniques to regain personal and organizational efficiency, coaching to promote the integration of these tools and create new, healthy routines. To prevent mental overload, the trainer-coach works with employees on 4 levels: self, environment, tasks and interactions.

I offer you very practical methods and models that I myself apply successfully in my often hectic daily life." Petra Bleschke
